The scope kept growing. The title finally caught up.

Senior UX Product Designer who led the complete redesign of a national bank's customer-facing website: the relaunch drove the highest six-month volume of account applications in the bank's history. My work runs in 740 branches and reaches over a million people. The bank had never paid to test any of it with the people who use it until I changed that. I turn complex business requirements into simple, elegant products.

Selected Achievements

Every one of these has a number behind it.

  • Led UX and visual design for the complete rebuild of woodforest.com; the July 2025 relaunch lifted bank-wide applications 36% (11,000 to 15,000+ per month) and drew 22 times the monthly visits to account opening on the site (1,526 to 33,444).
  • Built the business case for the bank's first UX research practice and won CEO approval and a research vendor contract; nine independent studies averaged 84 out of 100 on WEVO's experience-effectiveness score, and eight of them put real customer data behind a redesign we had already shipped.
  • Led the first redesign in the in-branch kiosk's history, mandated to carry loan applications and improve accessibility; I asked what it would take to re-equip the outlier hardware, and the case we built lifted the design target for the whole fleet from 800×600 to 1280×900. Live across 740 branches since June 2026, and the share of completed loan applications recorded as kiosk-sourced rose from 2.32% in 2025 to 14.98% so far in 2026, as the bank moved loan applications off paper.
  • Owned every design decision for Transfer & Pay Hub, the bank app's single destination for money movement, merging four scattered features plus a Zelle integration the app had never had. The hub shipped in July 2026, and Zelle arrived in August and took two weeks to move more transactions than Send Money, the legacy product beside it, moved in the whole month.
  • Sole designer of Banking GPS, the bank's financial literacy course that gets overdraft fees waived: 175+ screens, intro to certificate, on an icon and illustration system I built from Getty and the bank's own brand guidelines. I specified states and interactions alongside the developer as I drew them. The first redesign to survive review since the course launched in 2008: the one before it was shelved. Mine ships soon.
  • Raised a former agency's UX maturity from Stage 1 to Stage 2 on NN/g's 6 Levels of UX Maturity, and built its wireframe and IA template system, cutting design time by at least 25%.

Senior UX Designer I · Woodforest National Bank

Promoted From UX Designer II, January 2025

  • Design across the bank's full retail footprint from a combined UX and Marketing design team: mobile app, online banking, public website, and in-branch kiosks.
  • Designed all desktop and tablet wireframes and prototypes for the woodforest.com redesign, from low to high fidelity, and directed a co-designer's mobile execution for responsiveness and brand cohesion.
  • Design systems lead across four of the bank's surfaces: I designed the web system, I am the main builder of the mobile one, I refit the web system for the in-branch kiosk, and I built the system behind Banking GPS. Marketing and the mobile and desktop development teams all build against at least one of them.
  • Carried the redesign to launch across 330+ pages: led design-to-code communication with the development team, built 100+ of those pages myself in Umbraco, directed marketing and the design team through page building and push-to-live, and co-led QA and UAT across every page.
  • Led the bank's UX research practice for the life of its vendor contract: set testing priorities, ran studies through a third-party platform, triangulated results with site analytics and customer feedback, and presented findings to stakeholders and upper management.
  • Prototyped a Microsoft Copilot agent grounded in the bank's marketing library, so staff could check whether an idea was ready for the design team and learn how to route it through the marketing request process.
  • Deliver spec-complete design documentation (functionality, interaction, edge cases, and rationale) relied on by development, QA, and legal and compliance.
  • Mentor designers and coworkers on UX laws, principles, and methods.

UX/UI Designer Apprentice · Umbrage Studios

  • Selected for the studio's inaugural UX/UI apprenticeship; designed internal enterprise web and mobile products end to end alongside apprentice product managers and developers in Scrum, where UX was built into product development and design had an equal seat in defining what got built.
  • Produced app flows, user stories and journeys, sitemaps, wireframes, moodboards, and high-fidelity mockups; partnered with product managers and engineers to define requirements and design goals.
June 2020 to November 2021 Remote

User Experience Strategist · On Fire Media

  • Led two to three contract designers across multiple products, centering the agency's process on design thinking and user-centered design.
  • Led research and discovery: guerrilla usability tests and user interviews to validate insights and design concepts, with findings presented solo to clients and stakeholders.
  • Designed and delivered roughly 50 to 60 B2B and B2C websites spanning interaction, responsive, and visual design; lead prototype designer for the agency's flagship clients.

  • Founded in 2017 as a freelance video-editing studio (edited videos have earned 50M+ views); refocused as a UX and product design practice in 2021.
  • Personal lab for design engineering: I design and build my own work in code with Claude and Claude Code, including this portfolio (hand-written HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript) and two interactive prototypes that run the real flows they document.
  • Founder and sole designer of two products in design: FindaFan and ReelScared.
